Clinical Research Coordinator

National Neuromuscular Research Institute is looking for a dedicated Clinical Research Coordinator to join our team! The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) is responsible for driving participant recruitment by identifying, pre-screening, and enrolling eligible patients to meet study enrollment goals. The CRC coordinates and manages multiple clinical research trials from initiation through study close-out, ensuring accurate and timely data collection, effective communication with study participants and sponsors, and strict adherence to Good Clinical Practice (GCP), regulatory requirements, and institutional policies. This role also supports patient care activities as required to ensure the safe and compliant conduct of clinical research.

Austin Neuromuscular Center is at the forefront of neuromuscular research and clinical trials at the national and international level.

Since 2015, we have achieved major milestones including the first patient enrollment in multiple trials. Our involvement has grown significantly alongside our evolving experience and high quality research. To meet burgeoning demands, we officially established the National Neuromuscular Research Institute in 2021.

National Neuromuscular Research Institute is a global center for excellence in neuromuscular medicine, committed to research and clinical advancement for neuromuscular disorders. The institute is equipped with a dedicated research infusion suite, lab, and pharmacy. We have a team of highly trained clinical research coordinators and quality control officers on-site. All Austin Neuromuscular Center providers serve as part of the study investigator team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the coordination and implementation of a variety of clinical research trials from start to end at the same time.
  • Prepares for, coordinates and actively participates in sponsor site visits.
  • Communicates effectively with sponsors and/or CROs
  • Provides accurate and timely data collection, documentation, entry and reporting in appropriate data bases.
  • Communicates and collaborates with study participants, patients, internal and external parties, sponsors and PI.
  • Ensures that studies are conducted in compliance with institutional requirements
  • Keeps up to date with research updates and applies the learned material to the job.
  • Take/record patient vital signs.
  • All other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Required

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a clinical research environment
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical medicine, clinical trials and GCP concepts
  • Detail-orientated and meticulous in all aspects of work
  • Strong follow-through skills and ability to proactively identify and solve problems; demonstrated initiative is imperative
  • Must have professional demeanor and strong communication skills with the public as well as physicians/researchers
  • Ability to work well independently as well as in team environment
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service and multi-tasking skills are critical
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel, electronic health systems and databases in a research environment, or have a willingness to learn and demonstrate proficiency within 6 months of hire.
  • Ability to be flexible, organized, detail orientated and tenacious in follow-through
  • Possess the ability to work well under pressure, multi-task and manage deadlines
  • Knowledge of GCP, federal, state, local regulations and HIPAA policies and procedures.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in scientific, health-related or business administration preferred.
  • Preferred candidates will have three or more years as a clinical research professional
  • Spanish is a plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. This job will require exposure to patient elements. Works near others, usually within a few feet. May work in a noisy or distracting environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. *Certain vaccinations are required of all clinic staff.

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
Full-time. The core hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
