Position Overview
The Clinical Research Institute of Ohio is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) to join our research team. The CRC is a specialized research professional who works under the direction of the Clinical Research Manager and Principal Investigator (PI) to coordinate multiple ongoing clinical trials.
While the PI maintains overall responsibility for study conduct, the CRC independently facilitates and manages daily clinical trial activities in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, IRB requirements, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
This role is ideal for a seasoned CRC with hepatology/GI/obesity experience, strong phlebotomy skills, and the ability to manage multiple studies in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage clinical trials in accordance with protocols, GCP, FDA regulations, and IRB approvals
- Screen, recruit, and enroll study participants
- Lead and participate in the informed consent process
- Perform phlebotomy, specimen processing, and shipment per protocol
- Coordinate study visits, procedures, and follow-up care
- Maintain accurate and complete source documentation
- Enter data into EDC systems in a timely and accurate manner
- Identify and resolve data queries and discrepancies
- Report adverse events and ensure subject safety
- Maintain regulatory compliance and support regulatory document management
- Communicate effectively with sponsors, CROs, monitors, PI, and internal teams
- Support monitoring visits, audits, and inspections
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, HIPAA, and institutional policies
- Assist with study start-up, close-out, and ongoing study management
- Travel occasionally for investigator meetings or sponsor trainings
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Clinical Research Coordinator
- Preference will be given to candidates with clinical trial experience in MASH, liver disease, gastrointestinal, or obesity indications.
- Phlebotomy skills required (certification preferred or willingness to obtain)
- Strong knowledge of GCP, FDA regulations, HIPAA, and clinical research compliance
- Experience with EDC systems and CTMS platforms
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple studies simultaneously
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Education & Experience
- Degree from an accredited college or university (allied health, life sciences, or related field preferred)
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant clinical research experience may be considered
Preferred Qualifications
- Phlebotomy certification
- GI/hepatology background strongly preferred
- Experience with FibroScan, liver imaging, or biopsy coordination
- Industry-sponsored trial experience
- CRC certification (CCRC, CCRP, or equivalent)
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $63,000 – $71,000 per year (based on experience)
