  • Hiring Clinical Research Coordinator I or II based on experience, skillsets, and qualifications.
  • Highschool diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant field is preferred with multiple years of relevant experience is competitive.

Conduct protocols pertaining to human research under direction of PIs. Drs Basu have transitioned their program to UAB. They worked at Mayo Clinic Rochester, MN from 1993-2017 and had a very large program in Diabetes in the Division of Endocrinology. They are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and caring clinical research coordinator.

Conductions protocol screening and participant eligibility determination working alongside other team members to ensure compliance.

Conducts protocols pertaining to human research under the direction of PIs, adhering to institutional policies, paying attention to research safety and integrity. Safety of participants comes first.

Conducts human studies with appropriate use of SOPs, program manuals follow through using proper GCP and Human subjects protection guidelines, document work appropriately in electronic folders.

Adheres to institutional policies, attention to research safety and integrity, and the safety of participants comes first.

Recruits, retains, and enrolls human subjects in various NIH and industry-sponsored studies, keeping NIH, industry-sponsor, and lab timelines.

Proper communication and coordination with study participants under direction of PIs. Study meal preparation, coordination with lab/nursing staff, and proper upkeep of study documentation required.

Submission for IRB, radiation safety, and CCTS approvals as needed

Performs other duties as assigned. Manage participant care including recruitment, screening, scheduling, consenting, conducting visits, and collecting various assessments such as adverse event (AE) information or questionnaires.

Recruit, retain, enroll human subjects keeping NIH and lab timelines.

Act as a liaison between the clinical and research staff, departments, ancillary services and the study sponsor to ensure protocol compliance throughout the study

Certification by SOCRA is a plus.

Relevant experience and 2 years prior work experience required.

Qualifications:

  • Highschool diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant field is preferred with relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in use of billing and data management systems such as Oncore, Redcap, and Oracle is preferred.
  • Previous years of experience as a clinical research coordinator or similar role preferred
  • Knowledge of clinical research processes, regulations, and guidelines for NIH and Industry sponsored trials.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple trials and maintain proper physical and electronic records.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills-Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Familiarity with phlebotomy procedures is a plus
