Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Clinical Research Coordinator/Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. This role involves managing clinical trials, conducting patient assessments, and supporting ophthalmic research projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical and technical skills, including experience with EMR systems, blood sampling, and compliance with FDA regulations and GCP standards. Skills

  • Supervising experience in clinical settings or research environments
  • Extensive knowledge of clinical trials management, including FDA regulations and GCP certification preferred
  • Proficiency in medical terminology, data management software, statistical software, and EMR systems
  • Strong understanding of ophthalmology terminology
  • Experience with research documentation review, data collection, analysis skills, and compliance management
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security
  • Ability to monitor patients effectively during clinical trials with attention to vital signs and overall health status
  • Background in nursing or related healthcare fields is advantageous
  • Spanish speaking is a plus

Clinical Research Coordinator Responsibilities

  • The Clinical Research Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating clinical research studies, ensuring compliance with protocols and regulations
  • Manage and coordinate clinical research studies from initiation to completion
  • Recruit and screen potential study participants
  • Obtain informed consent from participants
  • Collect and maintain accurate study data
  • Supervise study procedures and ensure protocol compliance
  • Perform patient monitoring during trials
  • Conduct phlebotomy and clinical laboratory procedures as needed
  • Analyze study results and prepare reports
  • Maintain documentation in accordance with FDA regulations
  • Collaborate with investigators, sponsors, and regulatory authorities

Ophthalmic Technician Responsibilities

  • As an ophthalmic technician, you’ll perform an extensive number of data collection functions to allow for the proper professional diagnosis of patients’ conditions
  • Communicating to patients, including informing patients about tests and obtaining patient history
  • Performing accurate and consistent documentation and measurement tasks
  • Performing duties consistent with ophthalmic writer/scribe
  • Assisting physicians as needed
  • Performing patient triage
  • Maintaining instruments
  • Performing administrative duties including confirming appointments and maintaining cleanliness

This position is integral to advancing ophthalmic research through meticulous coordination of clinical trials while ensuring the safety and well-being of participants. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, a thorough understanding of regulatory standards, and a passion for contributing to innovative healthcare solutions.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
