Clinical Research Laboratory Technician/Phlebotomist

Job Description:

Direct Helpers Research Center (DHRC) is seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented Bilingual (English/Spanish) Laboratory Technician to support Phase I–IV clinical trials.

We strongly prefer a certified phlebotomist. We require previous clinical research experience, GCP and IATA certification. Our patient population ranges from newborns to geriatric participants, requiring a high level of technical skill, precision, and confidence in venipuncture across all age groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform complex phlebotomy, specimen collection, processing, labeling, and documentation
  • Process and package samples according to individual study protocols and IATA regulations
  • Ensure strict adherence to GCP, ICH, and regulatory requirements
  • Accurately complete electronic requisitions and work within laboratory portals and study-specific systems
  • Maintain lab equipment, inventory, and a compliant, organized work environment
  • Clear and concise communication with CRAs and CRCs
  • Providing satisfactory customer service with patients
  • Provide excellent service to patients, addressing their questions and ensuring they feel informed and comfortable during the specimen collection process.

Qualifications:

  • Phlebotomy certification and strong hands-on experience required
  • Clinical research experience required
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Knowledgeable in specimen processing and protocol-driven packaging requirements
  • Highly detail-oriented and comfortable working with technology, electronic lab portals, and digital documentation systems
