Summary
The Mobile Unit Driver role involves safely operating the 34 ft mobile unit to guarantee timely arrivals for events. The driver is also responsible for maintaining the mobile unit in optimal condition through proper inspections. Additionally, the role includes assisting with event setups by arranging equipment, distributing materials, and providing patient care all while adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance and operational safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities
● Determines the condition of the vehicle by inspecting it before and after use; logs all inspections; reports requirements, maintains a clean environment up to standards, and keeps inventory of the supplies needed for the vehicle
● Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions; contacts Client Service Team for guidance; Maintains equipment supplies; evaluates new equipment and techniques, mechanically inclined
● Oversee the maintenance of the mobile unit, ensuring it is properly charged, fueled, and securely stored
● Adheres to and supports the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the mobile unit, ensuring compliance and efficiency in all operations
● Maintains open communication with the Mobile Unit Director and other administrative teams to provide updates on unit performance and address any logistical concerns
● Operates and drives vehicle to programmatic destinations
● Responsible for selecting routes to destinations and ensuring timely arrivals for scheduled events and services
● Provides compassionate care to patients and assists with any immediate medical needs, while collaborating with the clinical team to ensure high-quality patient interactions
● Provides general health screens such as glucose, a1c, blood pressure, BMI, Fibro Scans (liver ultrasounds), and more
● Understands the values and characteristics of communities served
● Assists in the setup of events by arranging tents, tables, chairs, and distributing handouts
● Collaborates with the team to ensure a smooth operational flow during events
● Assists in capturing and tracking data from events, including prescreening results and potential study participants, ensures accurate documentation for research purposes
● Prepared to respond to medical emergencies as needed
● Monitors, records, and maintains inventory of both medical and general supplies used in the mobile unit; proactively notifies the Senior Director of Patient Services when supplies are low and coordinates ordering to ensure adequate stock for upcoming events
During days with no events scheduled:
● Conducts study visits and assists Principal Investigators and Sub-investigators in assessment of medical and medication history, laboratory, and other test results
● Presents study details and trial concepts to the potential research subjects during the informed consent process
● Establish a practical working knowledge of research protocols
● Assists with eligibility determination of patients and subject research activity
● Responsible for accurate and timely data collection, documentation, entry, and reporting.
● Performs protocol directives and clinic duties as delegated by and under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI).
● Supports lab processes, procedures including collection, processing and shipment of samples as needed
● Follow GCPs and FDA guidelines.
● Must have a flexible schedule. Regular work schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required to support community events, outreach activities, and operational needs.

Qualifications
Education/Experience:
A broad base knowledge in automotive systems. Emergency Medical Technician or equivalent with experience driving a medical mobile unit or any specialty vehicle; medical training preferred. Clinical Research experience preferred but not required.
Driving Record:
Clean driving record and ability to pass periodic drug and alcohol testing.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
