Clinical Research Nurse Coordinator I

Salary determined by experience and qualifications. Annual Salary Range - $60,835 - $75,855

• CLINICAL RESEARCH NURSE COORDINATOR I
• Bachelor's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement. Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.

Conduct protocols pertaining to human research under direction of PIs. Drs Basu have transitioned their program to UAB . They worked at Mayo Clinic Rochester, MN from 1993-2017 and had a very large program in Diabetes in the Division of Endocrinology. They are seeking a highly motivated, passionate research nurse to lead their program at UAB.

Lead role in protocol screening and participant eligibility determination working alongside other team members to ensure compliance.

Submission for IRB, radiation safety, CCTS approvals as needed

Submission for FDA -IND/IDE, other regulatory work as per PI if and when needed with assistance of clinical trials unit staff.

Conduct human studies with appropriate use of SOPs, program manuals follow through using proper GCP and Human subjects protection guidelines, document work appropriately in electronic folders.

Conduct all study activities in accordance with the protocol, Institutional Review Board (IRB) regulations, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)·

Coordinate the life cycle of the study from start-up through maintenance to closure.

Place IVs, prepare medications, conduct studies in the Clinical Research Unit at UAB and other sites.

Adhere to institutional policies, attention to research safety and integrity, Safety of participants comes first.

Manage participant care including recruitment, screening, scheduling, consenting, conducting visits, and collecting various assessments such as adverse event (AE) information or questionnaires.

Recruit, retain, enroll human subjects keeping NIH and lab timelines.

Act as a liaison between the clinical and research staff, departments, ancillary services and the study sponsor to ensure protocol compliance throughout the study

Certification by SOCRA is a plus.

Relevant experience and 2 years prior work experience required.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (nursing)
- Previous experience as a clinical research nurse coordinator or similar role preferred
- Knowledge of clinical research processes, regulations, and guidelines
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Proficiency in using computer systems for data management and analysis
- Familiarity with phlebotomy procedures is a plus
