Clinical Research Specimen Processing & Shipping Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Clinical Research Specimen Processing & Shipping Specialist to join our growing team. This role is responsible for the accurate processing, packaging, and shipment of clinical research specimens in accordance with study protocols, laboratory procedures, and regulatory guidelines. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and performs well under pressure while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

· Process clinical research specimens according to study-specific protocols and laboratory manuals.

· Prepare and ship specimens in compliance with sponsor, IATA, and regulatory requirements.

· Ensure accurate labeling, documentation, and chain-of-custody procedures.

· Maintain organized records and shipping logs.

· Assist with phlebotomy as needed.

· Follow written procedures, lab manuals, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

· Maintain a clean and organized work area.

· Communicate effectively with research staff and laboratory personnel.

· Manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting strict timelines.

Qualifications

· Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience required.

· Minimum 3 years of specimen processing experience required.

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

· Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

· Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

· Highly organized with strong time-management skills.

· Ability to follow detailed written instructions and procedures.

· Performs well under pressure and meets deadlines consistently.

Preferred Skills

· Experience working with clinical research protocols.

· Familiarity with specimen shipping regulations.

Work Environment

This position requires standing for extended periods, handling biological specimens, and working in a clinical/laboratory setting.
