RESEARCH STUDY COORDINATOR (In-Person) – ENDOCRINOLOGY

BALTIMORE RESEARCH & EDUCATION FOUNDATION (BREF)

The Baltimore Research and Education Foundation (BREF) is a non-profit biomedical institute that supports the research and education missions of the Veterans Affairs Maryland Healthcare System (VAMHCS) by managing research and education projects funded by non-VA sponsors. In this capacity, BREF employs research staff for investigators doing clinical research at the Baltimore VA Medical Center.

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY

This full-time position is for a clinical Research Study Coordinator in Endocrinology. The position will work with research investigators to implement protocols and conduct clinical trials and other research studies to meet sponsor goals. The position requires someone who can work independently and perform diverse duties.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The incumbent will be required to collaborate and work closely with multiple team members, including the Principal Investigator, other research study coordinators, pharmacist, physicians, data manager, statisticians, medical students and registered dietitian on various projects which are related to diabetes technology. Duties include, but are not limited to, screening, recruitment and enrollment of patients, maintaining patient data, study-specific interventions and procedures, completion of case report forms, completing required documentation for Institutional Review Board and other compliance organizations, maintaining study files, arranging logistics for study audits, working with administration to ensure all study related approvals and activities remain compliant and up to date, and communicating with study sponsors on status at site as well as any adverse events. Additional responsibilities can include conducting library research and contributing to the preparation and writing of research findings for publication and grant proposals.

APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in clinical research.
• Additional education may be substituted for required experience, and additional related experience may be substituted for required education
• Experience with IRB regulations and compliance.
• Must be self-motivated and must have the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
• Demonstrations attention to detail and is highly organized
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
