Clinical RN II Surgery

The Registered Staff nurse assumes professional nursing responsibility and accountability within a designated time frame for the care and treatment of assigned patients. He/she prescribes nursing care utilizing the nursing process in the development of nursing diagnosis and expected outcomes, delegates nursing care based on the competency of the team members, coordinates care utilizing available resources and the environment. Interacts with other health care team members and/or disciplines in accordance with standard nursing practice and Henry county Medical Center policies. The ages of the patients served are pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric. Exceptions include no neonates in surgery and no neonates, pediatric or adolescent patients in psychiatry

Must have a current TN, RN license. Candidate will be responsible for age-specific care of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients in preoperative and postoperative environments while providing continuous patient surveillance for early recognition/prevention and immediate emergency treatment of medical or surgical complications that may arise. Interested candidates must have excellent communication skills with patients, visitors, partners, physicians, and work with a multi-disciplinary team to provide safe care to patients.
