DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of the physician and the manager, you will perform clerical and administrative duties to meet the needs of the patients and physicians in the Center for Pain Management/Center for Weight Loss Surgery. Promotes and adheres to the IRMC core values of ICARE (Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence) and G.R.E.A.T. (greet/respond/explain/ask/thank) customer standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
In this role you will be:
- Coordinating office activities
- Undertaking various department projects at request of supervisor.
- Maintaining office schedules to best serve the department.
- Utilizing excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Utilizing the computer system and basic medical terminology of ICD-9 coding.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Successful completion of a medical terminology and ICD-9 coding courses.
- EXPERIENCE: Two years experience in a physician practice or ambulatory setting preferred
- LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: N/A

WORKING CONDITIONS
- WORK ENVIRONMENT: Works in patient care environment with potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens and mechanical moving parts, as well as chemical and electrical hazards and temperature extremes.
- PHYSICAL: Frequently lift up to 10 pounds without assistance. Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds without assistance and 50 pounds with assistance. Ability to constantly stand, sit, walk, communicate, and use hands and arms to reach, feel, or grasp repetitively.
- VISION: Close vision; clear vision at 20 inches or less | Distance vision; clear vision at 20 feet or more | Color vision; can clearly see and distinguish colors | Depth perception; three-dimensional vision and ability to judge distances and spatial relations.
