CLINICAL SIMULATION COORDINATOR

Position Summary
The Clinical Simulation Coordinator is responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of simulation-based learning experiences within the nursing program. This full-time position requires a flexible schedule, including both daytime and evening sessions, to support student learning across program offerings. The coordinator collaborates closely with faculty to ensure simulation activities align with course objectives, clinical competencies, and accreditation standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement high-quality clinical simulation scenarios that reflect current nursing practice
  • Coordinate and facilitate simulation sessions, including pre-briefing, facilitation, and structured debriefing
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain simulation equipment (e.g., high-fidelity mannequins, task trainers, AV systems)
  • Collaborate with faculty to integrate simulation into didactic and clinical courses
  • Train and support faculty in simulation pedagogy, scenario delivery, and debriefing techniques
  • Evaluate student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback
  • Maintain accurate records of simulation activities, student participation, and outcomes
  • Ensure simulation labs are organized, fully stocked, and compliant with safety and regulatory standards
  • Assist with program evaluation, quality improvement initiatives, and accreditation documentation
  • Stay current with best practices and emerging trends in simulation-based nursing education

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Nursing required
  • Active, unencumbered RN license
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of recent clinical nursing experience; academic or simulation experience preferred
  • Experience with or willingness to learn simulation technology and learning management systems
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced academic environment
  • Certification in simulation education (e.g., CHSE)
  • Knowledge of accreditation standards (e.g., ACEN, MSCHE)

  • Full-time position with flexible hours, including daytime and evening simulation sessions
  • Schedule may vary based on program needs, student cohorts, and simulation lab usage
  • Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and commitment to student success

  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to institutional and regulatory standards
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training

Work Environment

  • Primarily based in a clinical simulation laboratory
  • Requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting or setup of equipment

Pay: $100,000.00 per year
