The Clinical Skills & Education Coordinator is responsible for managing the nursing clinical skills/simulation laboratory and coordinating student clinical placements. This role ensures integration of lab, simulation, and clinical experiences in alignment with program outcomes and accreditation standards (ACEN). The Coordinator serves as a liaison among faculty, students, and clinical partners to support effective and compliant clinical education.
Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Skills Lab Coordination (50%)
- Manage daily operations of skills and simulation lab(s)
- Coordinate lab scheduling, equipment, and supply inventory
- Support faculty with lab setup and simulation activities
- Operate and troubleshoot simulation equipment
- Provide orientation/training for faculty and students
- Ensure compliance with safety and infection control standards
Clinical Education Coordination (50%)
- Coordinate student clinical placements and schedules
- Serve as liaison with clinical partners and preceptors
- Track and verify student compliance requirements
- Support onboarding and readiness for clinical placement
- Maintain placement records and generate reports
- Assist with affiliation agreements and site communications
Additional Duties
- Support accreditation, assessment, and program evaluation activities
- Collaborate with faculty to align lab and clinical learning experiences
- Participate in departmental meetings and planning initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution
- Current, unencumbered RN license (Illinois or eligibility required)
- Minimum of 2–3 years of clinical nursing experience
- Experience in clinical education, simulation, or clinical coordination
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

- Familiarity with ACEN or CCNE accreditation standards
- Experience with clinical tracking systems (e.g., CastleBranch, Complio, Typhon)
