Position Summary:

The Clinical Supervisor/Team Leader is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of an interdisciplinary team delivering community-based, outpatient, and school-based behavioral health services. This team includes clinicians, therapeutic training and support staff, therapeutic mentors, and clinical interns. The Supervisor ensures high-quality clinical services, effective team functioning, and operational excellence across service settings.

This position is responsible for hiring, orientation, clinical supervision, performance management, team facilitation, documentation oversight, utilization review, and crisis response. The Supervisor also provides 24/7 on-call support on a rotating basis and may deliver direct clinical care as needed. In collaboration with the Program Director, the Supervisor helps ensure program quality, compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations, and smooth day-to-day operations. This individual assumes leadership responsibility in the Program Director’s absence.

This is a critical leadership role requiring strong clinical expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to manage a range of responsibilities in a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment.

Essential functions:

Supervisory/Administrative:

  • Oversee all aspects of an interdisciplinary CBHI team of clinicians, therapeutic training and support/therapeutic mentors, and clinical interns.
  • Oversee in-home therapy and therapeutic mentoring services provided by assigned team.
  • Provide supervision and performance management and evaluation for assigned team.
  • Provider interviewing, hiring, orienting, and training to assigned team.
  • Facilitate team meetings and trainings with assigned team.
  • Oversee management and completion of records management and utilization review.
  • Provide 24-hour on-call rotation and consultation to assigned team.
  • Provide back-up support to clients as needed in the absence of staff/interns.
  • Assist other clinical supervisors and program director in the oversight of all services and completion of all agency, program, regulatory, funder, and administrative requirements.
  • Assume leadership responsibility in the absence of program director.
  • Assist director in implementing the program’s goals, direction, and policies and participate in their development.
  • Provide leadership presence in program and during staff meetings.
  • Assist with oversight, management, and data tracking and reporting for referrals for all services as needed.
  • Together with director, maintain collaborative relationships with area providers and state agencies to support service provision, continuity of care, network coordination and responsiveness to client needs.
  • Represent the program at designated meetings with funders and/or community providers as assigned.

Clinical/Direct Services:

  • May provide Direct Clinical Services for a small number of Outpatient, School-Based, Group, or In-Home Therapy clients as assigned and as needed for back up to staff/interns and/or if team is not fully staffed.
  • On-call coverage, as assigned.
  • All other duties, as assigned.

Education and Licensure Required:

  • Master-level Degree: MSW, MS, MA (e.g., counseling, psychology, mental health counseling, and family therapy).
  • Independent Licensed (LICSW, LMHC).

Experience:

  • Experience working with children and adolescents with behavioral health needs and their families.
  • Experience with, and knowledge of, community based mental health including CBHI services.
  • Experience with strength-based assessment and development of treatment plans based on clear clinical formulations and knowledge of collateral systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team structure.
  • Demonstrated creativity, cultural curiosity, and flexibility in responding to a variety of family, home, and community environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience supervising clinical staff and/or interns preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Reliable transportation and proof of valid auto registration, auto insurance, and driver's license.
  • Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply (but not required).

Supervision Received: Program Director or Designee

Supervision Exercised: Supervise CBHI staff, outpatient clinicians, and clinical interns as assigned.
