Clinical Supervisor – Outpatient Mental Health

Full-Time | Exempt | Salary: Competitive and based on experience, starting at $75,000 annually

Momentum Counseling & Consulting (MCC) is seeking a dedicated Clinical Supervisor to provide clinical oversight, mentorship, and quality assurance across our growing outpatient mental health organization.

This role is ideal for a fully licensed clinician who is passionate about supporting the professional growth of fellow clinicians, maintaining high clinical standards, and contributing to a collaborative team culture.

The Clinical Supervisor partners closely with executive leadership to ensure that MCC delivers high-quality, ethical, and compliant care while fostering a supportive environment for clinicians and supervisees.

This position can be fully remote from anywhere in the US, or hybrid with in-office options in Colorado.

What You’ll Do

Provide Clinical Supervision and Oversight

  • Provide regular clinical supervision to a team of supervisees, ensuring adherence to ethical, professional, and regulatory standards
  • Oversee the delivery of mental health services, maintaining a commitment to evidence-based practices
  • Monitor supervisee caseloads, treatment planning, and clinical decision-making to ensure the highest quality of client care
  • Ensure risk protocols are followed consistently, including safety planning, mandated reporting, and crisis pathways

Support Clinician Development and Performance

  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and offer constructive, growth-oriented feedback to supervisees
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to support supervisees in building clinical competence and professional confidence
  • Identify training needs and collaborate with leadership to develop continuing education and professional development opportunities
  • Address performance concerns in a timely, supportive, and solution-focused manner

Maintain Documentation and Compliance Standards

  • Ensure timely and accurate clinical documentation from supervisees in line with regulatory and organizational standards
  • Support HIPAA compliance processes and participate in incident response as needed
  • Participate in internal chart review processes to maintain documentation quality
  • Assist with payer and regulatory audit readiness as directed by the Clinical Director

Contribute to Team Culture and Clinical Operations

  • Attend and actively participate in team meetings, maintaining a professional, supportive, and inclusive presence
  • Model respect, empathy, and professionalism, cultivating a positive and collaborative team culture
  • Collaborate with intake and administrative teams to support referral-to-care processes and clinician capacity management
  • Communicate key supervisee and clinical insights to the Clinical Director and leadership team

Time Allocation (Approximate)

This role focuses primarily on clinical supervision and clinician development. Typical distribution of responsibilities:

  • 40–50% direct clinical supervision and supervisee support
  • 15–20% documentation review and compliance oversight
  • 10–15% team meetings, collaboration, and cross-team coordination
  • 10–15% clinician development, training, and mentorship
  • 0–10% limited direct clinical work (as needed)

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
  • Active independent clinical license (LPC, LMFT, PsyD, or equivalent)
  • Eligible to provide clinical supervision in Colorado
  • Minimum 3 years of post-licensure clinical experience
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical supervision or leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based mental health practices and clinical documentation standards
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and behavioral health compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication skills with a commitment to fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and supportive team environment
  • Dedication to ethical decision-making and prioritizing both client and team wellness

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in outpatient mental health settings
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems
  • Experience working with Medicaid, Medicare, or commercial insurance requirements
  • Experience developing and implementing clinical protocols or standard operating procedures
  • Experience participating in regulatory or payer audits

Work Environment

This role offers flexible scheduling with the option to work fully remote, in-person, or hybrid with in-office options in Colorado. The Clinical Supervisor may occasionally assist with urgent clinical operational matters or attend off-site meetings and organizational events.
