Clinical Support Groups Coordinator

AGENCY DESCRIPTION:

AncoraTN (ATN) works tirelessly to nurture survivor healing and strategically combat human trafficking in Middle Tennessee. We seek to break cycles of exploitation and support survivors of human trafficking as they heal from their traumas—offering long-term, comprehensive aftercare services. Through training communities and professionals, advocating for legal changes, and implementing prevention programming, AncoraTN works to stop human trafficking before it ever begins.

Clinical Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Clinical Group Coordinator creates and leads trauma-informed group programming to survivors to decrease trauma-related symptoms and foster healing. The Clinical Support Group Coordinator is responsible for implementing evidence-based programming and delivering psychoeducational support groups specifically for survivors of human trafficking and complex trauma.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Provide specialized therapeutic interventions for victims of human trafficking (sex and labor) in an intensive outpatient (IOP) group setting three days per week.

 Assess and support the individual needs of participants. Provide individual support as needed.

 Maintain a small individual case load.

 Maintain confidentiality for participants by abiding by all HIPAA regulations.

 Update curriculum as needed to ensure we are on the cutting edge and that survivor voices are being elevated.

 Assist with building new support groups based on identified needs.

 Consult with Direct Service Team and Direct Service Leadership on group strategy and implementation.

 Implement a survivor-informed feedback process to elevate survivor voices and report findings to supervisor.

 Comply with agency policy and procedures, maintaining all required documentation, including reporting for grants, in a professional and timely manner.

 Communicate and coordinate care for participants with other direct service team members, clinicians, and participants. This includes participation in supervision and/or team meetings.

 Participate in ongoing professional and educational opportunities; reading professional publications; researching best practices; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations.

 Perform all duties and demonstrate behaviors and attitudes consistent with the Mission, Vision, and Values of AncoraTN.

 Maintain positive and professional working relationships through effective communication, collaboration, mutual trust, and support of organizational leadership, while contributing to a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement

 Carry out duties assigned by Supervisor.

All positions at AncoraTN interact with survivors of human trafficking from day to day. This issue is sensitive and complex. Every employee is trained in trauma-informed and strength-based approaches in order to connect with and build appropriate and encouraging relationships with survivors. We strive to create a completely judgement free work environment. Empathy, compassion, and the ability to deal with difficult situations is a must for anyone who works at AncoraTN.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is carried out primarily in an office setting with intermittent sitting, standing, walking, and some light physical activity. Most work is performed while sitting and using the computer and phone, and engaged in face-to-face conversation with staff and/or clients. This position is an in-office position. It is not eligible to work from home and must report into the office daily.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:

  • LPC, LMFT, or LCSW required.
  • 2 years of experience in group therapy, preferably in an IOP setting required.
  • Experience working with trauma, substance abuse, sexual exploitation, victim assistance, child protective services, youth in foster care or human trafficking populations preferred.
  • Comfortable and competent in working with individuals who have experienced complex trauma.
  • Strong understanding of evidence based therapeutic modalities and interventions.
  • Comfortable speaking in front of a group, and leading smallgroup dynamics.
  • Strong knowledge of Motivational Interviewing skills.
  • Must participate and contribute to a teamwork philosophy.
  • Experience with an organization delivering traumainformed care to vulnerable populations.
  • Peopleoriented with demonstrated ability to build rapport and gain trust with diverse populations.
  • Ability to adapt and work effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and oral, and prompt response to messages.
  • Valid driver’s license, staterequired driver’s insurance, and access to reliable personal transportation; ability to travel throughout Middle Tennessee.
  • Ability to effectively build and maintain collaborative relationships with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills.
  • Approaches work in a peopleoriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative way.
  • Brings passion, idealism, integrity, a positive attitude, and missiondriven, selfdirected work.
  • Persistence and flexibility, maintains the ability to multitask and prioritize.

  • Maintains confidentiality, as required by law and in the best interests of survivors, staff and organization.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Initial and subsequent random drug screening is required as per agency policy.

2. A background check is required.

3. Must be willing and able to embrace and exemplify our core values.

JOB TYPE:

Part-time, 3 set days a week between Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm. Anticipated 24 hours scheduled a week.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

Salary: $30/hour

Benefits:

  • $150.00/ month for therapy reimbursement.
  • Employer 403b match up to 1% of salary based on employee contributions and dependent on annual board vote. Eligible after 6 months of employment.
