CHILD & FAMILY SERVICES CLINICAL THERAPIST - TRAVERSE CITY

Northern Lakes Community Mental Health Authority (NLCMHA) recognizes the value of and employs people with lived experience and believes strongly in Recovery and a Culture of Gentleness. Will provide direct clinical services to mentally ill children and adults using a variety of intervention techniques including individual, group and family therapies, case consultation and coordination. May provide services to emotionally disturbed children and their families as needed. Will provide direct crisis intervention services to registered and non-registered clients during daytime clinic hours and after hours on a rotating basis.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide direct clinical services to registered consumers, primarily mentally ill children, adolescents, and adults. Direct services are expected to approximate 50% of the normal workweek.
  • Provide indirect services for registered consumers, including case consultation and coordination, advocacy, and referral.
  • Complete any necessary evaluations including DECA and MichiCANS, or other evaluations as determined clinically appropriate.
  • Will consult and actively participate in decisions regarding clients and appropriate services.
  • Will participate in daytime and after -hours crisis programs.
  • May participate in interventions, assessments, and other aspects of crisis services during and after hours, as necessary.
  • Provide group therapy.
  • Participate actively in staff development activities including unit meetings, supervisory meetings, community meetings, applicable conferences, and review of current literature regarding services to adults, children, and families.
  • Work cooperatively with Primary Care Physicians, local Courts, Family Independence Agencies, Schools, ISD, Substance Abuse and other providers to promote provision of quality community-based services.
  • Work cooperatively with other agency staff and different programs to insure provision of quality services.
  • Participate actively in Utilization Review, other Quality Assurance programs, in periodic evaluation of service output, impact of service delivery, and program planning.
  • Complete documentation of assessments, person-centered plans, review of compliance with documentation and contract requirements, quarterly reviews, and terminal evaluation summaries within time frames prescribed by unit policy in accordance with Medicaid and/or other third-party payor standards (including managed care).

QUALIFICATIONS:

Credentialed by NLCMHA to provide services in this professional discipline.

LICENSING or CERTIFICATIONS:

Must have licensure with the State of Michigan as a fully licensed professional: Licensed Masters Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor or Psychologist preferred. Limited Licensed Masters Social Worker, Limited Licensed Professional Counselor, or Master’s Limited Psychologist considered. Must maintain licensure.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Licensed Professional Counselor from an accredited university.


PAY: $71,663 - $81.663

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position may require irregular hours.
  • This position may require travel by personal vehicle if an agency vehicle is not available.
