Clinical Utilization Review Nurse (RN)

Overview:

Our client, a mutual benefit corporation and health plan provider, seeks an accomplished Clinical Utilization Review Nurse (RN).

*** Location: Rancho Cordova, CA (Remote Acceptable)

*** Duration: 6 months contract w/ possibility of extension or conversion to FTE role

Notes:

• Work is primarily remote, with only occasional potential for on-site meetings. If on-site presence is required, the candidate may report to the nearest office location. This role may also be fully remote; the hiring manager can confirm expectations during the interview.
• Work Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm or 4:30pm depending on if staff member takes a ½ hour or full hour lunch Monday through Friday.

Description:

• Reviewing for medical necessity all levels of care combining clinical knowledge and judgement with MCG guidelines.
• Rendering decisions and or upleveling to our in-house MD for review if the nurse is unable to approve. All of this to be done within regulatory turnaround times.
• Our staff do not interact with members but work with the case managers and medical staff at the facilities.

Qualifications:

· BSN preferred but not required.

· Must have a current Valid CA RN license.

· Strong clinical (hands on) background.

· Strong computer skills.

· Strong basic navigation of Microsoft.

· EMR chart handling a plus.

· Ability to work remote/self-directed.
