Closing Dispatcher (Team Lead)

We’re looking for a reliable and motivated Closing Team Lead to oversee afternoon and evening operations. This role is critical to ensuring successful daily execution, supporting drivers on the road, and maintaining strong communication, accountability, and operational performance.

Closing Team Leads serve as the primary leaders during the second half of the day, ensuring routes are completed efficiently, drivers are supported, and the station is properly closed out each night.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate daily routes and monitor delivery progress in real-time
  • Communicate with drivers to provide support, updates, and issue resolution
  • Ensure drivers follow safety protocols and company policies
  • Track attendance, performance, and on-road challenges
  • Assist with loadout, dispatch, and end-of-day debriefs
  • Track accountability and scorecard performance

A Day in the Life (What This Role Actually Looks Like)

This is a hands-on leadership role, not a desk-only position. Your day will be split between being on the road supporting operations and leading dispatch in the evening.

10:00 AM – Start of Shift

  • Arrive and begin your assigned portion of a split route
  • Deliver approximately 100–120 stops while maintaining safety and quality

Midday – On the Road Support

  • After completing your route, you will:
  • Assist with rescues as needed
  • Support van swaps for vehicle issues
  • Deliver phones/equipment to drivers if needed
  • Provide general on-road operational support

~5:00 PM – Return to Station & Handoff

  • Return to station (target time around 5 PM)
  • Receive full handoff from opener, including dispatch phone and operational updates

5:00 PM – Close (Dispatch Leadership)

  • Take over as the primary dispatch lead
  • Monitor routes, coordinate rescues, support drivers, and communicate updates
  • Handle coaching, safety alerts, and accountability tracking

End of Night (~8:00 PM)

  • Oversee driver return process
  • Ensure all equipment and vans are secured
  • Complete closing responsibilities and reset station

Schedule & Commitment

  • This role is structured as a 3–4 day work week
  • 10-hour shifts required each working day
  • Expected schedule will follow one of the following:

Sunday – Wednesday

OR

Wednesday-Saturday

  • Schedule will be assigned based on business needs and requires full consistency and reliability
  • Flexibility to adjust based on operational demand is expected

Start Time: 10:00am

Pay: Starting at $21.00/hour (Paid Weekly on Fridays)

Requirements (Must-Have):

  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift packages (up to 50lbs)
  • Screenings and successful completion of training
  • Reliable transportation and strong attendance
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
