Closing Support Teacher (Twos/Preschool)

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Closing Support Teacher (Twos/Preschool) to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will play a vital part in creating a nurturing, engaging, and structured environment for young learners. Your focus will be on supporting classroom activities during the closing hours, ensuring smooth transitions, and maintaining a positive atmosphere that promotes childhood development and learning. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with children, implement curriculum plans, and contribute to their early educational journey in a supportive setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing age-appropriate curriculum development tailored for Twos and preschool-aged children, fostering early literacy, math skills, and social-emotional growth.
  • Support classroom management by maintaining a safe, clean, and organized environment conducive to learning and play.
  • Engage children in activities that promote physical education, creativity, and social interaction while managing behavioral expectations through positive reinforcement techniques.
  • Collaborate with lead teachers to develop lesson plans that incorporate Montessori methods, early intervention strategies, and specialized approaches for children with additional needs.
  • Monitor and document individual progress using standardized testing methods and observational assessments to inform future lesson planning and tutoring strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's daily activities, developmental milestones, and any concerns related to child welfare or behavior management.
  • Assist with classroom routines such as diapering, potty training support for toddlers, snack time, and nap schedules ensuring compliance with childcare standards.

Requirements

  • Prior experience working with young children in a preschool or daycare setting is essential; classroom experience is highly valued.
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles, early childhood education techniques including literacy education and math instruction.
  • Familiarity with special education needs, early intervention practices, and behavior management strategies.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, parents, and caregivers.
  • Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate physical activities, sensory play, and educational content aligned with curriculum standards.
  • Certification or training in early childhood education or related fields is preferred; Montessori certification is a plus.
