ABOUT THE ROLE:
Skechers is seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer to support the design and engineering of our cloud infrastructure using HashiCorp's suite of tools. This role is perfect for an experienced technical professional with deep expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and security automation who wants to expand and enhance our existing cloud infrastructure.
As a Cloud Engineer, you'll be responsible for day-to-day infrastructure automation, coordination with internal stakeholders, and continuously upgrading our cloud architecture using modern DevOps practices and HashiCorp technologies. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about cloud transformation and automation at enterprise scale.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Infrastructure & Automation:

Design, implement, and maintain Terraform modules and configurations for multi-cloud infrastructure provisioning across AWS environments.

Develop and maintain automated machine image pipelines using Packer to create standardized, secure, and compliant AMIs.

Integrate HashiCorp tools into CI/CD pipelines for automated infrastructure testing, deployment, and compliance validation.
Security & Governance:

Implement and manage HashiCorp Vault for centralized secrets management, dynamic credentials, and encryption-as-a-service.

Design and maintain Sentinel policies for Terraform Cloud/Enterprise to enforce security, compliance, and governance standards.

Enforce adherence to architectural standards through automated policy enforcement and cost controls.
Strategic & Collaborative Work:

Work with technology teams to develop target state cloud architecture using HashiCorp best practices and planning for ongoing optimization.

Participate in cloud technology discussions and facilitate decisions regarding HashiCorp tool adoption and implementation.

Manage and execute POCs and feasibility studies to validate next-generation product concepts and technologies.
Continuous Improvement:

Keep current with HashiCorp product roadmaps and evolving technologies to understand how new features can be applied.

Create technical documentation for platform architecture, strategy, and engineering processes.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
-
3+ years supporting mission-critical infrastructure at large organizations with 2+ years in cloud-based network management.

Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash, Python, NodeJS).

Strong knowledge of infrastructure design and server infrastructure implementation.

Experience with networking and web standards (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, HTTP, web security, firewalls).

2+ years hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning.

1+ years experience each with Packer for image building and Vault for secrets management.

Expert-level Infrastructure as Code skills with Terraform modules and Sentinel policies.

AWS core services proficiency (IAM, ECS, Fargate, Kubernetes, DynamoDB).

Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, or Puppet).

Strong troubleshooting and system testing skills (platform, integration, load, and scale testing).

Ability to work on multiple concurrent complex projects and coordinate work across teams.

Experience with JavaScript frameworks (Angular), RESTful APIs, JSON/XML preferred.

AWS extended services experience (ElastiCache, ElasticSearch, SQS, SNS, Lambda) preferred.

Cloud templating and automation experience preferred.

AWS Certification preferred.
REQUIREMENTS:

3+ years of experience supporting mission-critical infrastructure in cloud environments.

Hands-on experience with HashiCorp tools (Terraform, Packer, Vault).

AWS cloud services experience with focus on security and automation.

Ability to work 3 days in the office per week.
The pay range for this position is $130,000-$170,000/yr USD.
