About the position:
Chevron invites applications for the role of Senior Cloud Engineer within our Enterprise Content Management team in India. This position has responsibility for the critical platforms, tools, and capabilities that provide on and off-premise Cloud infrastructure services to every Chevron business units and sites. This position will provide broad exposure to the application of technology to enable business with many opportunities for growth and professional development for the candidate.
Responsibilities:
Serves as a cloud solution expert during engagement with stakeholders.
Contribute to cloud technology roadmap and vision for the associated products like SharePoint, Documentum, InfoArchive, OneDrive, M365 etc.,
Facilitates demonstrations of cloud architecture principles, patterns, best practices by working with Chevron Cloud peers.
Lead the design and implement end-to-end solutions using Microsoft Azure services in a secure manner, tailored to the oil and gas industry with limited guidance.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Design, Develop, Implement, Test and maintain cloud native solutions, using containers, microservices, CI/CD pipelines and technical documentation.
Lead the integration of various systems and applications, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability with an emphasis on automation.
Lead the cyber security, compliance, risk assessments and business continuity.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams throughout the project lifecycle. Mentor and guide cloud engineers to improve their cloud competencies.
Work with technical teams to coordinate and communicate status, technical requirements, project priorities, operational impacts.
Requirements:
5+ years of prior experience in cloud computing and architecture.
Expert knowledge on at least on one cloud platform, preferably Azure.
Skilled in designing and implementing cloud-native solutions using a wide stack of Microsoft Azure services, including Azure App Services, Azure Kubernetes Services, Azure Functions, Azure DevOps, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database among others.
Strong experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, HELM)
Experience with microservices architecture
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
Strong experience in Ansible.
Skilled in implementing various architecture styles, design patterns and best practices for software development.
Skilled in evaluating technology and product options, and modern trade-off analysis for various architecture and design choices.
Expert in logging in one or more monitoring/logging tools like AppDynamics, Grafana, ThousandEyes, LogAnalytics etc.,
Skilled in ability to design and implement security best practices and compliance requirements in the oil and gas industry.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science engineering or related field
Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or similar. Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks.
Experience with data integration, data warehousing, and big data technologies.
Familiar with AI/ML integration frameworks

Technical Skills: Has a breath of knowledge Azure and Hybrid infrastructure/hardware. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in
Cloud fundamentals: Skilled Level of Azure Basics, DevOps Environment
Directory Services: Skilled level of Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Entra
Hosting platforms: Skilled level for Azure
Scripting and automation: Minimum Fundamental skill level and Proficient in one or more of the following: Ansible, Bash, PowerShell, Python
Storage platforms: Skilled level for Azure Storage (blob, file, disk), Azure File Sync, Azure Data Lake
Structured technical problem solving and debugging
Amount of relevant working experience leading global team of cloud engineers overseeing cloud solution development and implementation
Experience with various architecture styles, design patterns and best practices for cloud solution development.
Experience evaluating technology options, and modern architecture trade-off analysis
Level of technical knowledge on key technologies.
Knowledge of API Protocols (REST, SOAP,)
Knowledge of Azure Services (App Services, Azure Data Lake, Azure Functions, Azure DevOps, Data Factory, Azure SQL, Azure Service Bus, Event Grid)
Level of knowledge of supporting technology and concepts
Knowledge of architecture styles, design patterns and best practices (SOLID Principles, MVC and REST, N-layered, SOA, Modular Monolith, Microservices & Event Driven Architectures, DDD, Asynchronous & Parallel programming)
Knowledge of data modeling relational schemas.
Knowledge on database performance tuning
Knowledge of data integration, data warehousing, and big data technologies.
Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools including GIT and version control systems.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments.
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with IoT solutions and edge computing.
Familiarity with machine learning and advanced analytics.

Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly, the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1.30pm to 10.30pm.
