Overview Lead design, deployment and operation of cloud networking across AWS, Azure and GCP for enterprise workloads. Work closely with architects, security and platform teams to deliver resilient, scalable, and secure network solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement VPC/VNet/GCP VPC architectures, subnets, route tables, NAT, peering, Transit Gateway/Virtual WAN, and Firewall policies.
- Build and manage hybrid connectivity (VPN, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, Cloud Interconnect) and on-premises integration.
- Configure and operate cloud-native load balancers, private endpoints, service endpoints, and global traffic management (Route 53/Traffic Manager/Cloud DNS).
- Deploy and maintain network security controls: NSGs, security groups, WAF, NACLs, firewall-as-a-service and segmentation.
- Implement network automation and IaC using Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep/ARM templates, or Deployment Manager.
- Develop CI/CD pipelines for network changes and integrate with GitOps workflows.
- Monitor network performance and costs; troubleshoot latency, packet loss, routing and DNS issues.
- Define and enforce networking standards, runbooks, and run periodic architecture and security reviews.
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with vendors and regional teams for deployments.
- Participate in on-call rotation for incident response.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years hands-on cloud networking experience across AWS, Azure and/or GCP.
- Deep knowledge of VPC/VNet/GCP networking, routing, peering, Transit Gateway/Virtual WAN, NAT, and security controls.
- Experience with hybrid connectivity: VPN, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, Cloud Interconnect.
- Strong experience with Terraform and at least one cloud native IaC (CloudFormation, Bicep, Deployment Manager).
- Proficient with Linux networking, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs and WAN technologies.
- Skills in automation using Python, Go, or PowerShell and familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
- Good understanding of identity, access controls, and zero-trust networking principles.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work across timezones.
Preferred Qualifications
- Cloud certifications: AWS Advanced/Professional, Azure Solutions Architect/Network, or Google Professional Cloud Network Engineer.
- Experience with service mesh, SD-WAN, SASE, and network observability tools (Datadog, New Relic, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor).
- Familiarity with container networking (CNI, Calico, Istio) and Kubernetes networking.
- Arabic language skills or prior experience working in the Middle East.
