About the Role:
Cyderes is seeking an Cloud Systems Engineer II. This role will not only serve as an ongoing system and cloud administrator but also design, implement, document, and manage cloud-based solutions for Cyderes. The role will also be responsible for integrating and troubleshooting cloud-based applications. We seek a self-starter familiar with configuring cloud applications to automate processes and reporting to drive organizational efficiencies. This position will work closely with Cyderes’ internal security team to ensure security and compliance requirements are met. To be successful in this role, you must be comfortable challenging the status quo and providing solutions. Success will be measured by improving the effectiveness of how Cyderes’ applications are delivered, integrated, and secured.
This position reports to the Director of Technology Services.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate on developing and implementing policies for using cloud services, including documentation and training related to policies and procedures.
  • Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.
  • Establishment and management of a secure cloud environment.
  • Configuring cloud infrastructure components, including networking, security services, and DNS for internal and external-facing applications.
  • Ownership of technical duties for the enterprise associated with cloud computing.
  • Ensuring appropriate availability of services, including tracking and reporting key metrics.
  • Technical ownership of enterprise cloud-based applications (Azure, Atlassian, Google Workspace, Microsoft O365).
  • Implement and manage vulnerability scanning and patching processes using tools like Wiz and Tenable to ensure a secure cloud environment.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation to automate and scale cloud infrastructure efficiently.
  • Collaborate closely with internal security to ensure compliance and security objectives are met.
  • Troubleshoot cloud-based and IT-related issues.
  • Conduct root cause analyses, identify appropriate solutions, and implement them.
  • Mentor and coach team members as a subject matter expert.
  • Collaborate with business partners, third-party vendors, and other IT personnel on company-wide IT initiatives.
  • Provide Tier 2 helpdesk support for the help desk team when required – proactively monitor and address helpdesk tickets via the ticketing solution.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and time management skills to ensure tasks are completed accurately and within deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Experience with Okta and Aquera.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology (IT).
  • Cloud provider certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Strong knowledge of security technologies and architecture, including encryption, cloud network security design, security group configuration, intrusion detection, data loss prevention, and application security.
  • Technical knowledge of the leading SaaS applications.
  • A passion for automation and workflow development.
  • Ability to take initiative and be proactive.
  • Ability to work independently and be resourceful.
  • Complex problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to condense complex information into simple language for the appropriate audience.
