About Our Practice

Our Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) certified Internal Medicine practice in Elgin, Illinois is seeking a reliable, compassionate, and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team.

We offer weekday hours, a supportive work environment, and the opportunity to gain valuable clinical experience in primary care.

In this role, you will work directly with the physician to support clinical care, assist with patient visits, and help maintain efficient office operations. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a smaller practice environment where teamwork, patient relationships, and quality care are a priority.

Job Details

Responsibilities

• Record patient vital signs, weight, and medical history updates
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist the physician during visits
• Maintain accurate EHR/EMR documentation
• Assist with referrals, prior authorizations, and care coordination
• Convert paper medical records into electronic records
• Assist with Quality Metrics and Patient-Centered related projects
• Prepare and sanitize exam rooms before and after patient visits
• Schedule appointments and manage patient flow
• Provide front desk support including greeting patients, check-in/check-out, and answering phone calls
• Maintain medical supply inventory and place orders when needed
• Deliver excellent patient service and help maintain a positive patient experience

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a medical or healthcare-related field
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification preferred
• Experience with EHR/EMR systems
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Professional and dependable with strong attention to detail
