CMM Programmer and Operator

We pride ourselves on precision, quality, and innovation, and are seeking a skilled CMM Operator to help ensure our products meet the highest standards.

Overall Job Responsibility

The CMM Operator programs and operates the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), gathers and analyzes measurement data, and reports results using custom-written programs for management. This role supports part development, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Understand and follow the company quality system.
  • Program and operate the CMM to measure parts and components accurately.
  • Report measurement results to appropriate personnel.
  • Perform routine maintenance on CMM equipment.
  • Identify, suggest, and follow through on ideas for process or measurement improvements.
  • Work with management to achieve short- and long-term goals.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.

Essential Functions

  • Interpret blueprints and CAD models to program the CMM for accurate measurements.
  • Inspect parts and details to meet customer specifications.
  • Assist in measurements to support part development.
  • Update CMM programs as needed for engineering changes.
  • Schedule and perform routine CMM maintenance.
  • Track work and job time within Global Shop (GSS).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience with CMM software.
  • Computer operating proficiency.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Familiarity with CAD environments.
  • Proficiency in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • CMM software training or certification.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand and walk.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Must occasionally lift/move up to 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to perceive and analyze details using close, distance, and peripheral vision.

Pay: $31.00 - $35.00 per hour

Experience:

  • CMM Operating: 3 years (Required)
  • Polyworks: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Blue Light Scanning: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Quality checks for die components: 1 year (Required)
