Essex Industries is a multi-site aerospace and defense manufacturer serving military and commercial customers worldwide. We are seeking a CMM Programmer Operator to develop and execute digital measurement programs using CMMs and optical scanning equipment to ensure components meet specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Perform CMM programming, setup, and analysis of both in process and finished products
- Work with engineering and inspection teams to troubleshoot parts
- Perform first piece production inspection and provide feedback
- Document findings and develop planning for jobs
- Train others on CMM operation and appropriate methods
- Inspect component dimensions, using digital and non-digital inspection equipment, to blueprint requirements
- Communicate effectively with machinist, operators, and management to maintain acceptable quality standards
- Maintain and generate all required quality documentation including inspection and discrepancy reports
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned or requested
Requirements
- Technical degree in an engineering related field and 3+ years of CMM experience, or equivalent technical training and experience as a CMM operator and programmer.
- Familiarity and/or experience using the following: CMM, optical scanning devices, caliper, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, and optical comparators. Usage of PC’s. Prior experience with MCOSMOS. Knowledge and competency of GD&T.
