Overview

Duties
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices.
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic or Cerner.
- Support patient care plans by administering medications under supervision, managing catheter care, and ensuring proper aseptic techniques are followed.
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or memory impairments in memory or behavioral health units.
- Assist with complex medical procedures such as phlebotomy and wound care in acute or post-acute settings like ICU or Level I Trauma Centers.
- Document patient interactions thoroughly in medical records while maintaining strict HIPAA compliance to protect patient confidentiality.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care in diverse environments including outpatient clinics, inpatient units, hospice settings, or home & community care programs.
Requirements
- Valid CNA certification with current licensure in the state of practice.
- Demonstrated experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and vital signs monitoring.
- Experience in specialized areas such as critical care (ICU), emergency medicine (ER), pediatrics (PICU), geriatrics (long-term care), or hospice is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms for accurate documentation.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting patients using Hoyer lifts and assisting with mobility aids safely.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and coordinate with healthcare teams. Pay: $23.56 - $27.50 per hour
