Job Summary

Duties
- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices.
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature, ensuring timely communication of changes to the healthcare team.
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner.
- Provide specialized care for individuals with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other memory impairments through tailored activities and compassionate engagement.
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to prevent the spread of infectious diseases in various settings including ICU and trauma centers.
- Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, phlebotomy procedures, and wound care following established safety standards.
- Document patient interactions thoroughly in medical records while respecting HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and accuracy.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in acute care environments such as emergency rooms, surgical units, or pediatric units to deliver seamless patient service.
- Support patients' emotional well-being through attentive caregiving and effective communication tailored to individual needs and disabilities.
Experience
- Prior experience working in diverse healthcare environments including hospitals (Level I Trauma Centers preferred), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or outpatient clinics.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms for accurate medical documentation.
- Experience caring for patients with complex conditions like critical care (ICU), post-acute recovery, behavioral health challenges, or pediatrics (PICU).
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to physiology, anatomy, geriatrics, and pharmacology to support effective patient care.
- Hands-on experience with specialized procedures such as IV therapy, medication administration, or use of Hoyer lifts is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with infection control practices including aseptic technique and infectious disease protocols in hospital or long-term care settings.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals who have disabilities or developmental challenges across home & community care environments. Pay: $18.39 - $19.86 per hour
