Duties

• Provide direct patient care during scheduled shifts, ensuring comfort, safety, and dignity for all individuals.
• Administer medications and treatments following established protocols, including medication administration and catheter care.
• Monitor vital signs, record medical documentation accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks.
• Assist with mobility and transfer techniques utilizing equipment like Hoyer lifts to promote patient independence and prevent injury.
• Support patients with specialized needs including dementia, Alzheimer's, memory care, behavioral health, and working with individuals with disabilities.
• Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures such as phlebotomy and infection control practices in line with HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in acute care, ICU, emergency medicine, or post-acute settings to deliver comprehensive patient service.

Experience

• Proven experience working in medical settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or outpatient clinics.
• Critical care experience including ICU or Level I Trauma Center environments is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks to ensure accurate medical records management.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and basic life support (BLS) procedures.
• Prior caregiving experience involving geriatrics, pediatrics, home & community care, or behavioral health is preferred.
• Experience with specialized procedures such as catheter care, medication administration, and aseptic techniques.
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments including urgent care or hospital medicine units while maintaining high standards of patient safety and confidentiality.
