As a CNA at Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center, you will provide person directed care to those people who living in the Care Center with an additional focus on coordinating meal service and meaningful activities.
Essential Job Functions:

Practice the Values, the Mission, and Philosophy of Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center.

Assist in implementing care of Neighbors by becoming familiar with each neighbors’ plan ofcare to include but not limited to dining, personal care, bathing and social interests as outlined in the care plan.

Assists with meal service; takes orders, assists with preparing and serving meals to all neighbors.

Ensures that neighbors are engaged in meaningful activities each day.

Provides for privacy while giving personal care.

Provides physical comfort by assisting neighbors with activities of daily living.
-
Gives mental, emotional, and physical support in accordance with care plans.
-
Always treats neighbors with dignity and respect.
-
Demonstrates patience, compassion, and respect toward the neighbors, and encourages neighbors to be mentally active and as independent as possible.

Provides meals, snacks and fluids and assists neighbors to eat when needed.
-
Documents all care given.

Provides preventative skin care/pressure ulcer prevention measures; i.e. turning, repositioning, shifting weight, bridging, special cushions and monitoring.

Performs basic vital sign skills: i.e., Temperature, Pulse, Respirations, and Blood Pressure.

Assists with ambulation or mobility needs using the proper lift and/or gait belt according to established lift policy.

Routine cleaning of equipment such as over bed tables, commodes, bed pans, etc. Also keeps work areas neat and clean.

Performs rounds with and reports to on-coming shift.

Maintains awareness of changes in neighbors’ condition and appropriately reports abnormal changes to the charge nurse.

Maintain confidentiality of all work-related information according to HIPAA regulations.

In addition to the responsibilities described above, the role may include other responsibilities and duties as assigned on occasion, based upon Eben Ezer needs or requirements.

Education and Experience:

Attend Eben Ezer C.N.A. training course per course guidelines and State of Colorado requirements.

Will agree to C.N.A. Training agreement.
Other Skills and Abilities:

Must be able to work independently as well as within a team and in cooperation with many departments.

Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Ability to manage time and resources effectively.

Maintain punctuality when reporting to work and leaving work.

Must demonstrate the willingness and ability to learn and perform all duties required by the
Nursing Department.

Ability to work and converse in a polite manner with neighbors, their families, co-workers, and others associated with the position on a daily basis.

Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions

Must be able to follow safety measures to protect neighbors, self, and co-workers.
Material and Equipment used but not limited to:
-
Equipment associated with patient cares such as lifts, tubs, wheelchairs, gait belts, specialty beds, blood pressure cuff, etc.

Use of telephone, and nurse call paging system.
Working Environment/Physical Activities:
-
Must be able to push/pull up to 250 pounds regularly using a wheelchair. Must be able to lift 0-50 pounds regularly by self and 50+ pounds occasionally with assistance.

Frequently walks, stands, bends, lifts, pushes.

Employee will be working in a busy clinical environment which includes being on feet up to 90% of the shift.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather).
-
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to blood borne pathogens; works near moving mechanical parts.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Working Hours:
As scheduled by the Director of Nursing or designee and may include evenings, nights, weekends,
and holidays.
Working Location:
This is not a remote position and work must be performed in person.
