Nursing Assistant Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in nursing homes. Your primary responsibility will be to assist with daily living activities and ensure the comfort and well-being of patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of those they serve.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
• Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
• Provide support in mobility and transfers using equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
• Assist with medical procedures under the supervision of nursing staff.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
• Document patient care activities accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding patient needs and progress.
• Support patients with memory care, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and other specialized needs.
• Participate in ongoing training and education to enhance skills in caregiving.

Skills

• Proficiency in using PCC systems
• Familiarity with long-term care practices and senior care environments.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medical documentation standards.
• Ability to perform phlebotomy and administer medications as directed by nursing staff.
• Understanding of infection control practices including aseptic technique.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs.
• Strong communication skills for effective patient service and teamwork.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
