Position Responsibilities:
- Deliver quality resident care within the scope of practice of the Certified Nursing Assistance/Attendant/Med Tech
- Provide direct care to the residents following direction from the facility Director, Nurse, ALF Policy and Procedure, Physician Order and State regulations.
- Assist residents with their ADLs and document as needed; including but no limited to dressing, transferring, toileting and oral care where appropriate.
- Communicate any changes in resident's condition at shift change; document on you residents on the communication log sheets.
- Round on residents at least every two hours or as directed by your facility nurse, ensuring all residents are dry and safe.
- Be familiar with individual resident's dietary needs/restrictions, ensuring they get the appropriate diet.
- Assist residents as needed with group activities; provide one on one activity as appropriate.
- Maintain a calm demeanor at all times when dealing with the ALF residents
- Sort laundry, wash and dry residents clothing, bedding and the facility laundry as needed.
- Ensure residents have appropriate snacks available between meals.
- Be familiar with individual transferring/ambulating needs; know how to assist with the use of the gait belt, walker, rolling walker, and wheelchair.
- Be familiar with residents charge sheets and charge according to the items used for residents needs.
- Be familiar with the use of the bed/chair alarm.
- Assist volunteers as appropriate.
- If not in place, complete Medication Technician training according to the state regulations with a passing grade.
- If applicable, stay current with annual 2-hour Medication Technician update training
- Be familiar with the routine of each shift as you may be required to work shifts other than the one you were hired for from time to time.

- Demonstrate excellent professional skills; good communication/organizational skills a must.

Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Complete Med Tech certification.
- Current CPR and AED certification preferable with American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers Program
- Basic computer knowledge and ability to learn computer software.
Experience:
- Geriatric experience preferred
ADA Requirements:
- Push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 20 lbs to a minimum height of 3 ft. and be able to push, pull, move and/or carry weight of a minimum distance of 50 ft.
- Assist in the evacuation of residents, personnel and support agencies, if necessary
- Meet general health requirements set forth by the policies of PRC, which may include a medical and physical exam.
- Relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and at times hostile people within the community.
