CNC Laser Setter/Operator - Trainee

CSM Sheet Metal are looking for a Trainee CNC Laser Setter Operator or someone with engineering experience to work in the laser cutting department on one of two Mazak Nexus Fibre Laser Cutting Machine. Training on the Day shift and then moving to morning shift thereafter.

Both Mazak machines have full sheet automation.

We would consider a trainee position for the right candidate.

Hours: -

AM Shift : Mon-Thurs 6:00 am – 3:00pm Friday 6:00 am- 11:00 am

Training on Day Shift : Mon-Thurs 7:30 am – 4:30pm, Friday 7:30 am- 12:30pm

Duties Include:

· Collating orders for numerous parts as for lists created in programming

· Selecting & loading of the correct material

· Checking dimensions and quality of work in accordance with drawing and job card instructions

· Inspection of first off

· Ensuring the machine if cutting efficiently

· Checks on number of parts run & signing job cards

· Interpret company documentation – drawings and job cards

· Set up the machine correctly and safely for the work to be carried out

· Carrying out machine maintenance as per schedule

· Training new employees on laser machines

· Ensure finished items are stacked safely on appropriate pallets

· Keep work area tidy and free from hazards

· Ensure adherence at all times to the Company’s Quality Assurance Policies and Procedures and maintain compliance to appropriate standards

· Carry out work safely in the interests of other employees and themselves, in compliance with current legislation and Company Environmental, Health and Safety procedures including general housekeeping

Overtime Rate: Time 1/3 first 4 hours and Time 1/2 thereafter

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.71-£13.35 per hour
