CNC Lathe Operator

Overview

In this role, you'll operate CNC lathes and related machinery to craft high-quality parts, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to safety standards. Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC lathe machines, ensuring proper tooling and fixture installation for each job
  • Program CNC lathes using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to produce complex parts with precision
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and specifications to meet exacting standards
  • Conduct routine inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and quality
  • Perform routine maintenance on CNC machinery, including Fanuc controls and other automation systems, to maximize uptime
  • Collaborate with team members on materials handling, fabrication, assembly line tasks, and packaging processes
  • Maintain accurate production logs, quality control documentation, and shift reports to ensure traceability and compliance

Requirements

  • Proven experience operating CNC lathe machines in a manufacturing or factory setting
  • Strong knowledge of CNC programming, including Fanuc controls and CAM programming techniques
  • Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications accurately
  • Mechanical aptitude with familiarity in tooling setup, fabrication processes, welding, stamping presses, press brake machines, and materials handling equipment such as forklifts
  • Proficiency with precision measurement tools like calipers and micrometers for quality control purposes
  • Basic math skills necessary for calculations related to machining tolerances and measurements
  • Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar design tools is preferred
  • Hands-on experience with factory safety protocols and use of hand tools in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail for high-quality output
  • Ability to work effectively on an assembly line or fabrication team in a fast-paced setting

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
