Overview
A busy subcontract workshop near Glasgow is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join its growing team. The role involves setting up and operating CNC milling or turning machines to manufacture precision components to tight tolerances. You’ll work in a modern manufacturing environment with flexible shift options and opportunities for development.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and edit/program CNC milling or turning machines (Fanuc, Mazatrol, or Hurco controls)
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Manufacture precision components to required quality standards and tolerances
- Inspect finished parts using measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges
- Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot issues where required
- Carry out basic machine maintenance and housekeeping
- Work collaboratively with the production team to maintain workflow efficiency
- Follow all health and safety procedures
Requirements
- Previous CNC machining experience in milling and/or turning
- Experience with Fanuc, Mazatrol, or Hurco controls
- Strong understanding of CNC setup, operation, and problem-solving
- Ability to read technical drawings accurately
- Competent using precision measuring equipment
- Reliable, detail-focused, and able to work independently or within a team
- Flexible approach to shift patterns
