Regional Supplemental Services is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, including lathes and milling machines, to produce precision parts and components. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will be essential to ensure high-quality production standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machining equipment, contribute to lean manufacturing processes, and support the creation of complex parts used across various industries. Duties
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines and CNC lathes, primarily using Fanuc controls or similar systems
- Program CNC machines utilizing CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and manual G-code adjustments
- Interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure precise machining
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify part dimensions
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot machine issues promptly to minimize downtime
- Select appropriate tooling and tooling fixtures for each job, ensuring optimal machining performance
- Follow safety protocols diligently while handling power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and other manufacturing tools
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through lean manufacturing principles and waste reduction strategies
- Assist in assembly processes when necessary, utilizing basic math skills and mechanical knowledge for fitting parts together accurately
Experience
- Proven experience operating CNC milling machines and CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code or M-code; experience with CAM programming is highly preferred
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical drawings to interpret specifications accurately
- Hands-on experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding processes, or welding is a plus
- Proficiency with SolidWorks or CAD software for part design review or modifications is advantageous
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and troubleshooting during machining operations
- Knowledge of Fanuc controls or similar CNC control systems is required
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines effectively
- Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes including tooling selection and setup
- Valid forklift certification may be beneficial for material handling within the shop floor
