CNC Machinist

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, including lathes and milling machines, to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will be essential in ensuring efficient production processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced manufacturing equipment and contribute to high-quality product development in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machining equipment such as CNC lathes and milling machines using Fanuc controls or similar systems.
  • Develop and modify CNC programs utilizing CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and CNC programming skills to optimize machining processes.
  • Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications, and engineering documents to produce precise parts.
  • Use precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify dimensions and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of machining operations, inspection results, and tooling setups; perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
  • Apply knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding processes, welding techniques, and assembly procedures when necessary for complex projects.
  • Adhere to safety protocols by utilizing hand tools, power tools, tooling setups, forklift operation, and other equipment responsibly within lean manufacturing environments.

Experience

  • Proven experience working as a CNC Machinist or in a similar manufacturing role with hands-on operation of CNC milling machines and CNC lathes.
  • Strong understanding of CNC programming languages such as G-code or M-code; experience with CAM software is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T standards, mechanical principles, and the use of precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and CMMs.
  • Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding processes, welding techniques, and assembly methods is advantageous.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high attention to detail; basic math skills for measurements and calculations are essential.
  • Experience operating related equipment such as power tools, hand tools, tooling setups, forklifts, and coordinate measuring machines in a manufacturing setting. Join our team as a CNC Machinist where your technical expertise will drive precision manufacturing excellence!
