CNC Machinist - Day Shift

CNC Machinist - Techni-Grind Machining, Preston

Job Type: Weekday Shift - 38 hours per week, Monday - Thursday.

Role and Responsibilities

Techni-Grind (Preston) Machining Ltd. was set up in 1998, and is based in Preston Lancashire. We are a precision CNC machining facility supplying the aerospace sector, and place emphasis on providing our customers with exceptional customer service and unrivalled quality. TGM specialise in long bed machining, with capability of up to 3.7metres in 3 axis and 4 metres in 5 axis, on both hard and soft metals.

• Program and set machine tool using company supplied production/process documents
• Ability to read technical drawings
• Operate CNC machines
• Confirm that work produced meets quality and technical standards through 1st off processes and self inspection
• Complete internal production/ quality documentation
• Assist with Production Planning to achieve efficient machine operations
• Operate FLT / Crane to load & unload billets.
• Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping
• Comply with H&S Regulations

Skills and qualifications

• Time served recognised engineering Apprenticeship, minimum of City Guilds/NVQ in Mechanical Engineering
• HNC Qualification an asset
• Minimum of 5 years of 3, 4 and 5 Axis machining
• Knowledge of Heidenhein
• Aerospace manufacturing experience an asset
• Good communication skills, and problem solving capabilities.
