Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Machinist - II to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate, set up, and program advanced CNC machines to produce precision parts and components. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will ensure the highest quality standards are met while maintaining efficiency. Responsibilities
- Operate CNC milling machines and CNC lathes using Fanuc or similar control systems to produce complex parts according to detailed blueprints and specifications
- Develop and modify CNC programs utilizing CAM programming software to optimize machining processes
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and blueprints to ensure accurate production
- Set up tooling, fixtures, and workpieces accurately using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM)
- Perform routine machine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments to ensure optimal performance
- Use hand tools and power tools for assembly, welding, or additional finishing tasks as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols including forklift operation when necessary
Skills
- Proficiency in CNC programming for both milling machines and lathes with experience in Fanuc controls
- Strong understanding of GD&T principles for precise measurement and quality control
- Mechanical knowledge of manufacturing processes including plastics injection molding and welding techniques
- Skilled in SolidWorks Fusion360 and CAD software for design review and tooling development
- Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret technical specifications
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste
- Knowledge of precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and CMMs
- Basic math skills for calculations related to machining tolerances and measurements
- Experience operating CNC lathe and milling machines using Fanuc or similar controllers
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, tooling setups, and assembly equipment effectively
