We’re currently seeking a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machinist II to support our growing manufacturing operations with our team on-site in Richmond, Illinois. This position will directly assist all processes associated with CNC machining within the facility and contribute as a vital part of the production process for specialty trackwork. This is a full-time, direct opportunity with Atlantic Track.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Operates CNC milling machines to produce precision parts according to specifications
Learns how to perform minor editing to CNC programming and learns about adjustments to speeds and feeds
Reads and interprets blueprints, technical drawings, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements
Utilizes precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges, and coordinates measuring machines to ensure accuracy
Performs setup and tooling changes on CNC equipment under supervision as needed
Conducts routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance
Assists in the assembly of components and utilizes hand tools and power tools for various tasks
Maintains a neat, organized, and safe work area
Loads and unloads parts on machine by crane
Complete required quality documentation
Maintains a positive and helpful attitude to assist other team members in the shop
High school diploma or equivalent (GED, HiSET, TASC, etc.)
Minimum of 5 years of CNC machining in a manufacturing environment
Ability to read and interpret CNC programs and blueprints
Basic mechanical knowledge
Basic shop math skills to be used for measurements and calculations related to machining tasks
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality control standards
Ability to work on-site in Richmond, Illinois
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate’s or technical degree
Railroad experience
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10 or 30-hour certification
Forklift certification
Experience operating overhead cranes
