CNC Machinist - II/III

Overview
Join our aerospace and defense manufacturing team as a CNC Machinist and become a vital contributor to precision machining excellence! In this role, you will operate, set up, and program CNC machines such as lathes and milling machines, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency. Your expertise in CNC programming, GD & T, and mechanical inspection knowledge will drive the production of complex components used across various industries. Duties

  • Operate CNC milling machines and CNC lathes with precision, following detailed operation sheets, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical specifications
  • Set up machines by installing tooling, calibrating equipment, and verifying machine parameters using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines
  • At machine programming with Fanuc controls to produce complex parts efficiently
  • Read and interpret detailed prints and technical drawings to ensure accurate machining processes
  • Conduct quality inspections using precision tools like dial indicators, micrometers, height gauges, CMM's and other measurement devices to verify dimensional accuracy
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area while adhering to safety standards including proper use of equipment and tooling
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through lean manufacturing principles and troubleshooting machine issues promptly to minimize downtime

Requirements

  • Proven experience operating CNC milling machines and CNC lathes with a strong understanding of CNC programming (G-code)
  • Solid knowledge of print reading, GD&T principles, and mechanical measurements
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately and apply precise measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines
  • Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and machining parameters
  • Hands-on experience with tooling setup, fixture installation, and machine calibration on CNC equipment such as Fanuc controllers
  • Strong commitment to safety protocols while working with machinery involving high precision standards
  • Mechanical aptitude with an understanding of manufacturing workflows including assembly processes

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
