Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Machinist specializing in Mill operations to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC milling machines to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise will ensure efficient production processes, adherence to technical specifications, and continuous improvement of machining practices. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for precision manufacturing, this is the opportunity for you to make a significant impact!

Duties

  • Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications to determine machining requirements.
  • Program CNC milling machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and manual techniques to produce complex parts with high accuracy.
  • Set up CNC milling machines, including installing tooling, calibrating equipment, and verifying machine readiness using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines.
  • Operate CNC mills equipped with Fanuc controls or similar systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety during machining processes.
  • Conduct routine inspections of machined parts using precision tools like dial indicators and coordinate measuring machines to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Perform maintenance on CNC equipment, including troubleshooting issues related to electrical discharge machining (EDM), tooling wear, or machine calibration.
  • Support lean manufacturing initiatives by optimizing machining workflows, reducing waste, and maintaining a clean work environment.
  • Assist in assembly processes when required, utilizing hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other fabrication techniques.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of machining operations, inspection reports, and process adjustments for quality assurance purposes.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a CNC Machinist focusing on Mill operations within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code or M-code and experience with CAM programming software.
  • Familiarity with blueprint reading and GD&T standards to ensure precise fabrication of parts.
  • Mechanical aptitude with understanding of electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding processes, welding techniques, and tooling management.
  • Proficiency in operating CNC lathes and milling machines with Fanuc or similar control systems.
  • Skilled in using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
  • Basic math skills essential for calculating dimensions, tolerances, feeds & speeds; ability to interpret technical drawings accurately.
  • Experience working with hand tools, power tools, forklifts for material handling, and supporting assembly tasks when necessary.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles aimed at continuous improvement in productivity and quality standards. Join us if you're eager to bring your expertise in CNC milling to a collaborative team dedicated to excellence in manufacturing!
