CNC Machinist / Shop Inventory Manager

Job Overview

Defender Tubular Services is seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist with experience in rethreading drill pipe and BHA tool connections.

The ideal candidate will also have a background in inventory management We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented professional who understands the precision required in oilfield machining and thrives in a fast-paced shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Rethreading and repair on:
• Drill Pipe connections
• Drill Collars
• Hevi-Wate Drill Pipe
• Drilling Subs and BHA tools
• Assist with Shipping & Receiving and Inventory maintenance of Subs and Handling tools.
• Operate and program CNC lathes and machining equipment
• Read and interpret technical drawings, thread profiles, and specifications (DS-1 preferred)
• Inspect finished connections to ensure compliance with industry standards
• Maintain proper documentation of work performed

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Experience operating:
• Forklifts
• Wheel Loaders
• Familiarity with:
• Handling tool inventories
• Sub management and tracking systems
• Ability to assist with yard operations as needed

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a CNC Machinist in the oilfield / tubular repair industry
• Strong knowledge of API connections and threading
• Experience with drill pipe and BHA tool repair
• Ability to work extended hours and meet production deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
• Experience with Tubular Inventories and Shipping and Receiving

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
