CNC Machinist/ Tool Maker

Overview:

You will be responsible for managing the Tool Room to provide both a reactive and pro-active roll supply to the Rolling Department. Responsible for planning and organising the Tool Room operations to ensure timely completion of work.

• Responsible for the timely production of rolls for the Rolling Department.
• Responsible for the creation of CAD drawings for roll design, overlays for roll and shape wire evaluation requirements - Production and Quality.
• Carry out roll inspection and to check accuracy and finish.
• Responsible for the development of the roll making process.
• To ensure effective utilisation of Tool Room equipment to ensure rolls are made in a cost-effective and timely manner.
• Monitor and control raw material stock.
• To monitor and control consumable costs in the Tool Room.
• Responsible in the supply of rolls to other group companies as required..
• Attend daily and weekly meetings.
• Ensure Health & Safety legislation and Company Policies are being complied with at all times.
• Operate the machinery and hand tools as necessary.
• Ensure the daily maintenance of the Tool Room Equipment.
• Familiar with operation and programming of Mazak CNC lathes
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• Significant experience in the Tool Making manufacturing processes.
• Time served engineering apprenticeship program.
• Basic knowledge of Health & Safety and Environmental Legislation.
• Prepared to be hands-on with a flexible approach.
• Strong work ethic and positive Team attitude
