Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced CNC Machinist with extensive hands-on machining knowledge and strong setup, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities. This role is ideal for a seasoned machinist who takes pride in precision work, understands tight tolerances, and can confidently handle complex jobs with minimal supervision.
The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, efficient, and capable of working across a variety of CNC equipment and machining operations. We are looking for someone who brings real-world experience, strong machining instincts, and the ability to help elevate the overall capability of the shop.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and optimize CNC machines to produce high-precision parts
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, drawings, and job specifications
- Edit and adjust CNC programs at the machine as needed
- Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and workholding for each job
- Perform in-process inspections to ensure parts meet quality and tolerance requirements
- Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling, programs, materials, and machine performance
- Maintain machine efficiency and minimize downtime
- Perform routine machine maintenance and basic preventative upkeep
- Maintain accurate setup, tooling, and process documentation
- Keep a clean, organized, and safety-focused work area
- Collaborate with programmers, management, and team members to improve processes and production flow
Experience & Qualifications
- 3+ years of CNC machining experience in a production or job shop environment
- Strong setup and operation experience with CNC mills and/or lathes
- Extensive knowledge of machining fundamentals, tooling selection, feeds & speeds, and workholding
- Proven ability to hold tight tolerances and produce high-quality precision parts
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable editing programs at the machine and making process adjustments independently
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings
- Experience with Haas, Mazak, or similar CNC equipment preferred
- CNC programming experience is a plus, but not required
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail are essential
