Position Summary
HBH Precision Manufacturing is seeking a skilled and reliable CNC Maintenance & Emergency Repair Technician to support daily production operations by performing urgent breakdown repair, preventative maintenance, and technical troubleshooting on CNC machines and precision gear-manufacturing equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Emergency Repair
- Respond immediately to machine breakdowns or production interruptions.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults on CNC and automated equipment.
- Perform rapid troubleshooting and corrective actions to restore production.
CNC Machine Maintenance
- Maintain and repair the following types of equipment:
- CNC lathes (e.g., Haas ST-10, GT-10)
- Gear hobbing machines
- Gear grinders and honing machines
- CMM and precision measuring equipment
- Air compressors, dryers, and facility utilities
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) to reduce downtime.
- Rebuild or replace key components such as spindles, bearings, ball screws, servo motors, sensors, and valves.
- Assist with machine installation, relocation, leveling, and alignment.
Technical Support & Documentation
- Collaborate closely with production and engineering teams to resolve equipment issues.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair reports, and parts records.
- Coordinate with external service providers and equipment manufacturers as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in CNC machine maintenance, industrial equipment repair, or similar roles.
- Strong troubleshooting ability with CNC systems, mechanical drives, electrical systems, and PLC-based controls.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Experience maintaining gear-related machinery is a strong plus.
- Skilled in using diagnostic tools (multimeters, dial indicators, alignment tools, etc.).
- Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to urgent machine downtime situations.
- Welding, fabrication, or basic machining experience is a plus.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing floor environment with frequent interaction with production staff
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform hands-on tasks around machinery
- Overtime, weekend, or on-call support may be required during critical repair periods
