Overview

Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC milling machines and lathes, including CNC lathe and CNC milling machines equipped with Fanuc controls.
- Interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and engineering specifications to ensure precise machining.
- Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery and tools, including tooling changes, calibration, and inspection of cutting tools and fixtures.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to support assembly or repair tasks as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols such as proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and safe handling of electrical discharge machining (EDM) equipment.
- Collaborate with team members on lean manufacturing initiatives to improve workflow efficiency and reduce waste.
Skills
- Proven experience operating CNC milling machines and CNC lathes with familiarity in Fanuc controls or similar systems.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T principles, and mechanical drawing interpretation.
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines for quality assurance.
- Mechanical aptitude with understanding of tooling setup, electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding processes, welding techniques, and assembly procedures.
- Basic math skills for calculations related to machining tolerances and dimensions.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents accurately while following safety standards diligently.
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles to promote continuous improvement in production processes.
