CNC Operator I - 1st Shift
JOB DESCRIPTION:
CNC Machinist
Production Manager

- Set up of CNC Mills and Lathes for production runs
- Change tools, comp work and tool offsets.
- Deburr parts, saw/prep raw materials.
- Maintain on-time delivery for all jobs in production.
- Work with tight tolerances +-.001 in high volume production scale.
- Proper use of power and manual tools. i.e. impact wrenches, drills, EZ Outs, hand tools.
- Understand and comply with all quality and safety rules, guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Must understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
- Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
- Must understand, support and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures and instructions.
- Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.
- Technical Capacity
- High proficiency in Math – trigonometry, decimals, conversions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
- Knowledge of generally accepted best practices and theory.
- Good mechanical skills
- Knowledge of shop use of measuring devices.
- Basic knowledge of quantitative methods/statistical procedures and graphic skills.
- Communication Proficiency
- Organization Skills
- Time Management
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
The employee will be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e. noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two + years of CNC Mill and Lathe related experience.

The anticipated wage scale for candidates who work in Springfield, MO is $21 - $25 per hour. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry and education. New York Air Brake is a multi-state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations. Provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, employees (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, vision, and basic life and disability insurance. Employees also will be able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Employees will also receive 80 hours of vacation leave and 40 hours of Personal Paid Absence every year. Employees will also enjoy 10 paid holidays, and 2 personal holidays throughout the calendar year, subject to relevant terms outlined in the employee handbook. 6 weeks of paid parental leave will also be available for use. Requirements for these benefits will be controlled by applicable plan documents and policies. Employees working on federal contracts covered by the Federal Paid Sick Leave requirements will be notified and will receive benefits consistent and compliant with the FPSL requirements.
