HIRING NOW · START BY MAY 30 · WESTERN COLORADO
Lock in a critical seat on a fast-scaling industrial fabrication platform.
THE ROLE
Own the CNC Press Brake bench across our entire pod system — from architectural cladding programs for national transit clients to AWS structural fabrications for utility-scale infrastructure. This is a dedicated, owned seat — not a shared role.
ABOUT MOUNTAIN OFF-ROAD / DSM
Mountain Off-Road / DSM is a precision steel fabrication and CNC machining platform in Delta, Colorado. Our work spans:
- Architectural cladding for national transit programs
- AWS D1.1 structural steel for utility-scale infrastructure
- Stainless production cells for OEM clients
- Aftermarket consumer products
We're scaling. In the last twelve months we've signed multi-year programs with national clients, launched a dedicated stainless production cell, and stood up the first formal pod operating model in our shop's history. This isn't a maintenance shop.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Run our CNC press brake on aluminum, mild steel, and stainless — gauges from 14ga to 1/4"+
- Read shop drawings, set tooling, dial in bend angles, and produce parts to spec — first piece, every piece
- Program and edit jobs at the controller — die selection, bend sequence, tonnage, springback compensation
- Quality-check your own work — tight first-piece and in-process inspection process
- Coordinate with laser operator and pod fabricators to keep work flowing
- Keep the brake running clean — preventive maintenance, tooling library organization, safety culture
GROWTH PATH
- First 90 days: Learn our tooling library, run production on anchor program work.
- 6 months: Full brake bench autonomy. Own setup, programming, and throughput. Begin cross-training a backup.
- 12 months: Brake bench lead. Influence tooling, equipment, and process decisions. Eligible for Pod Lead candidacy.
- Beyond: Brake/Forming Cell Lead as the platform scales.
REQUIRED
- 3+ years CNC press brake operation (Amada, Cincinnati, Trumpf, LVD, or comparable)
- Comfort programming at the controller and reading shop drawings
- Solid grasp of bend allowances, K-factor, springback, and tonnage calculation
- Mechanical aptitude — troubleshoot tooling and minor controller issues
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for full shift, work safely around moving steel
PREFERRED
- Experience forming aluminum (architectural panels, cladding work)
- Tooling library management or die catalog organization experience
- Background in pod- or cell-based production environments
- Welding, laser, or general fabrication cross-skills
WHAT WE OFFER
- $21 – $25/hr based on experience, with reviews tied to clear performance milestones
- Production bonuses and signing bonus available for the right candidate
- Paid time off and parental leave
- Tools and PPE provided — bring you, not your kit
- Modern, well-equipped shop with a professional production management layer
- A real path — we promote internally first
